Youth Athletics FAQ

Beginning with SSP:

  1. Is the assessment absolutely necessary? The assessment is an important part of starting your athlete’s journey with SSP. It is a time when you get to spend one-on-one with one of our coaches, discuss personal goals and history, and a chance for us to understand in depth how your athlete currently moves. This allows us to create an individual and appropriate program for you and make recommendations for which program would be the best fit for your athlete. It also is one of the few times we meet face to face with parents – which is important!
  2. What should I expect in the assessment? The assessment is a time for you to tour our facility and for us to get to know you and your athlete! After a discussion about goals and answering all your questions about the program we will do a movement assessment with your athlete, so make sure they come in close-toed shoes and athletic clothes.

Pack/A La Carte Memberships:

  1. Is there an expiration date on your Youth Athletics Packs? Yes. Our 10-pack expires after 4 months, and the 20-pack expires after 7 months.
  2. What is your cancellation policy for packs? If you cancel prior to 2 hours, you will retain your session. If you need to cancel within the 2 hour window, ZenPlanner will prompt you with a $20 late cancel fee. Once you accept it, you will be unregistered from your session. If you decide to not cancel and retain your spot in the session but do not show, the $20 fee will be charged following the session and you will lose your session.
  3. What happens when I run out of sessions? You can always purchase more sessions as you like online or through the app. Likewise, if you would like to move to a recurring membership, we can set it to start following the expiration of your scheduled a la carte sessions. Reach out to our team at ya@seattlesp.com if you’d like more information on upgrading your membership.

Recurring Membership:

  1. Why do we bill every four weeks (vs monthly)? Our pricing is built off of weekly cycles. For example, our session pricing is based off of a 4-week cycle (ex: 2 sessions/wk = 8 sessions per month). The weekly cycle makes managing the number of sessions ongoing much easier for both us and you.
  2. What if I’m out of town/sick due to injury or illness and will not be able to use the facility for a period of time? We can place a recurring membership on hold! Holds must be a minimum of 14 days, and must include an end date for us to input. Visit seattlesp.com/member to find membership hold forms.
  3. What if I would like to upgrade my membership? We are happy to upgrade your membership if you would like to change it (for example, moving from 1 session per week to 2 sessions). We do our upgrades/downgrades following your existing weekly billing period, e.g. if your current 4 week cycle ends on the 25th, your new membership would start on the 25th. Visit seattlesp.com/member to find membership change forms.
  4. If I have a recurring session membership, can I book a consistent time/day that I want scheduled? We are happy to plug you in for a permanent day/time slot! Let us know what day/time works best for you and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.
  5. What if I miss my weekly session? Can I make it up? Yes, you can make up your session(s). You will have 4 weeks to make up any missed sessions, and you will need to reach out to the gym to let us know which day/time you’d like to use your session. (ZenPlanner will not allow you to book yourself into more than your allotted number of weekly sessions.)
  6. Why was I charged for an amount higher than advertised? The total amount of your membership will reflect the membership price + WA sales tax.
  7. What if I want to cancel my four-weekly membership? If you decide you’d like to cancel your four weekly membership, you may do so at any time. Our cancellation notice period is 14 days.
  8. What happens at the end of my membership term? Our four-weekly memberships auto-renew. If you would like to cancel, you may do so before the memberships renew. Our cancellation notice period is 14 days.

Gym Etiquette/Other Information:

  1. What time should I show up for my athlete’s scheduled sessions? Please try to drop off and pick up your kids at the appropriate times. It is for the safety of your athletes that they are not unsupervised in the gym, and not our coach’s responsibility to do so outside of class times. We appreciate your cooperation!
  2. What should my athlete bring/wear to class? Please bring a water bottle so that your athlete can stay hydrated during our training. We have water dispensers where bottles can be refilled, but we do not provide cups. Athletes should wear close-toed shoes (preferably with laces so they can be tightened if necessary) and clothes they can comfortably move around and sweat in.
  3. What is your class or session cancellation policy? You may cancel in the ZenPlanner app up to 2 hours prior to your session or class.
